Batch weigher

Increase your productivity

Do you need to unload grain, iron ore, coal, bauxite, phosphates or maize? The Meyland unloading hopper is designed to quickly unload virtually any bulk material into a truck or onto a conveyor belt. The robust hoppers can be set up on any wharf and can withstand inclement weather.

With a throughput of up to 6,000 tons per hour, depending on your grab crane, you will see your import capacities increase significantly while saving valuable time. You can immediately continue processing your bulk goods or transport them to another location or warehouse.

Reduce your impact on the environment

Handling or storing dry bulk goods releases a large amount of dust. The disturbed dust particles pollute the air and water in the port, which is why governments around the world are imposing measures on port operators to reduce environmental pollution.

The Meyland unloading hopper minimises dust emissions during unloading with a simple yet effective anti-dust system. A small filter installation with Flip-Flaps reduces the amount of stirred-up dust and reduces material waste. This makes the Meyland unloading hopper an ecological solution for handling dry bulk goods.

Many different bulk goods are imported and exported daily at international ports. Every company, type of bulk cargo, and port has different characteristics and diverse needs in terms of safety, infrastructure and transportation.

That is why here at Meyland, we believe it is important to design our Unloading Hoppers according to each customer’s requirements. Thanks to our modular design process, we keep the lead time low so that you can start using your hopper immediately.

We always start with a standard hopper design. Depending on your requirements, we make adjustments and add features until the Unloading Hopper perfectly meets all your needs.

Built locally for international use

Our experienced engineers and technicians first design and then build each Unloading Hopper entirely in Belgium. After a series of extensive tests, the hoppers are disassembled and are ready for shipment to their final destination.

Powerful dust control: how does it work?

There is a grate in the hopper. Underneath, we attach a powerful system with ‘Flip-Flaps’, vertical rubber flaps that keep the dust down. The Flip-Flaps open to allow the bulk goods to flow through the hopper and close again to prevent the release of air and dust.

Thanks to these Flip-Flaps, compact filters are enough, so there is no need to invest in a complex dust control system.

Options for unloading
Unloading into trucks

If your bulk goods need to be transported immediately from the port to another location, it can be convenient to unload them directly into a truck. For this purpose, we install a loading unit with a dust control system that simultaneously loads the contents of the chute into one or two trucks.

Unloading onto a conveyor belt

Your bulk goods can also be unloaded directly from the Meyland unloading hopper onto a conveyor belt. An adjustable unloading unit ensures that the bulk goods are unloaded at the correct speed for an even distribution over the conveyor belt.

Transport options

Can your hopper stay permanently on the quay? Then a fixed unloading hopper is ideal. But what if you need a movable unloading hopper, for example, to free up space on the quay when it is not in use? In that case, a mobile unloading hopper is a better option.

Installation on rails

The entire installation is placed on steel rails that run parallel to the quay. Depending on your needs, you can operate the hopper independently or as one system with a crane.

Pneumatic tyres

Need more freedom of movement? Then we mount your hopper on hydraulically driven and rotable pneumatic tyres.

  • Maximum flexibility
  • 2- or 4-wheel drive
  • Own power supply available
Additional options: weighing and crushing
Weighing

Want to have control over the amount of material unloaded? Then we equip the Meyland unloading hopper with a calibrated weighing system. Do you want to know exactly how many tonnes of bulk cargo are passing through your bunker at any given time?

That is also possible with a flow weigher and even automatic data upload to the cloud.

crusher

Do you process materials that tend to clump together, blocking the unloading system? A double crusher in your Meyland unloading hopper solves that problem.
